Memories…

Every time I went somewhere and felt on cloud nine, when i came back home i tended to prolonge the feeling.

Coming back home from Oxford was no exception.

I used my mug with the union Jack on it to drink my afternoon tea – also bought in Oxford ( the tea was not my kind of tea, i admit it, but it was English tea… so I drank it anyway.)

I like reading English books, so I couldn’t miss the oportunity of buying myself some very funny bookmarks from St. Mary’s Church – it didn’t matter that my initial purpose was to see Oxford from above for the second time – the first was from here:

I weighed my financial situation – it was towards the end of my staying in Oxford – and as I considered that I already had some beautiful pictures from above I opted for the bookmarks instead. You can see some samples at www.weve-a-gift.com. ( sorry, I couldn’t save a picture here )

when I was getting myself prepared to come to UK, my husband told me: : Don’t forget to take your umbrella with you, dear! ” which I didn’t as there was not much room left in my luggage. But I bought myself one in Oxford only because it had ” It’s raining cats and dogs ” written all over it with the pictures of the animals in question as well.

Have I bought any English books? Of course, I have. They were much cheaper in the second hand bookshops than in our Romanian stores.

I hardly drink alcohol but I bought 2 little glasses – supposedly to drink together with my husband – the flag was on them too! – I drank some liqueur though.

In ” The City of Angels” ( one of my favourites ) N. Cage asks a little girl what she had liked most about this world and her answer was: PYJAMAS. If you ask me, though I’m not at the end of my journey…_ one of my answers would be: Oxford.

That is why I ordered myself a gobelin to sew – it is now framed and I watch Oxford  from my living room couch every day. Till we meet again…
